”Thaw” was an installation made specifically for one of the
salons at Vigelands Museum in Oslo, as part of the third
Norwegian sculpture Biennale curated by the Danish curator
Dorthe Abilgaard, in 2003.
The work consists of a large piece of calico material,
roughly cut in the shape of a sark, and hung from the ceiling.
Onto this is projected a very slowed down clip from the
musical ”The Sound of Music”.
At intervals the film clip achieves normal pace, and the
sound track comes in with the song ”My favourite Things”.
